The tsunami came and went, but what it left behind should never be forgotten the world over. In the coming days, it's on it way to becoming the world's worst natural disaster. Tolls now range around 80,000 but they'll be going up more and more as remote areas are reached. Please take a moment to pray for all who lost their lives and were affected by this disaster.

Finally got a day off from work too!
Played chess again all day, yeah I'm getting back into groove with the game

Merry Chessmas

Its been a while since I played chess regularly, or even played at all!
Back when I was a kid, I loved it and played like crazy...but well people change and so do the things they do in their spare time
My mom taught me the game when I could barely do math, but well, I loved it since then.
Most often my bro was my only opponent and it was fun playing with him
We were worthy opponents...over the years however he's kept at the game...most via Yahoo Chess!
And quite recently he brought home a program called HellChess (we have ChessMaster since long and yeah it rocks)
And I must say, this lil proggy is quite nifty and nice for a quick play.

So guess what, I recently ended up getting loads of free time and well, thought about playing chess
The first few games against HellChess were, well sucky, I lost too bad even on easy settings so to speak
But well today was different! I kept winning against it, and well kept increasing the level till I got bored
Heeeeh, I won so many games today against it, its fun
I recorded up one of the games on a decent setting and I probably put it up here someday.

Well so it feels nice today, and why not, it's Christmas for Christ's sake!

Lost in code...

Bumped into a couple of serious code resources today!
I was trying to figure out an efficient way to search and replace a text string in a file...and guess where I ended up

First, Catch22 Productions
Awesome site, awesome references, and their tutorial on Memory Management for Large File Editors is just perfect.
Keep checking out the other neat lil things on that page...its quite a handful!

Second, Boost
And why didn't I bump into this place before. Its hardcore
What really interested me was regex, though the other libraries on that site should be just as cool...
I seriously need a lot of time to check out everthing there!

Well, ended up coding nothing, but found so much information today...need to gather it all up and consolidate it for future use

Ok, got down to configuring this place a bit. Customized it to my liking and hopefully you guys like it too...
Blogger seems really customizable and I guess with a bit of help from Google, I might be able to get this place to be a bit snazzier. The Calender thingy on the right rocks doesn't it
Work's just about gonna get over, and yeah, it was a boring day, I got nothing done!
